USAID and DFID, via subcontractor Overseas Development Institute, engaged Social Impact from 2018-2020 as part of the Global Learning for Adaptive Management (GLAM) consortium.
Water Communications and Knowledge Management Project (CKM) is conducting a series of independent ex-post performance evaluations of USAID water and sanitation programs for the USAID Bureau of Economic Growth, Education and Environment’s Water Office (E3/W). Through the Water and Development Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity Contract, SI is supporting the monitoring and evaluation activities of the project.
SI supports the U.S. Department of State in using performance management best practices, including evaluation. Our work helps the Department achieve the most effective U.S. foreign policy outcomes and greater accountability to the American people.
Developmental Evaluation Pilot Activity - Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, and Learning Innovations (DEPA-MERL) is the first major effort to pilot Developmental Evaluation (DE) at USAID. The DE approach is designed to support learning and strategic adaptation of innovative projects, programs, or activities, untested theories of change, and/or implementation in complex contexts.
USAID’s Bureau for Management, Office of Management Services (M/MS) engaged Social Impact from 2015-17 to finalize and roll out new strategic plans and corresponding performance metrics for three of its stakeholder groups, including Executive Officers (EXOs) at USAID overseas Missions. In addition, SI is advising M/MS on change management for the successful implementation of these new Operations Strategies and metrics.
SI is collaborating with USAID, academics, sector specialists, and research firms to conduct evaluations and research into activities such as government service delivery and accountability, supporting independent media, and citizen security. SI is measuring how these activities impact democracy, human rights, and governance around the world.
SI provides USAID with key technical assistance and services to support the US government’s Feed the Future initiative. This initiative aims to combat hunger, reduce poverty, and forge long-term solutions to chronic food insecurity and under nutrition. The Food Security Service Center serves as a resource for the USAID Bureau for Food Security and USAID Missions around the world.
SI identified key research questions on expanding trade and markets for agricultural products. The resulting Learning Agenda, helps the US Department of Agriculture Foreign Agricultural Service Food for Progress Program prioritize impact evaluations and other evaluations, policy analysis, and research efforts supported by USDA and its implementing partners.
GHPOD II provides professional development and organizational development support to the USAID Bureau for Global Health to improve the effectiveness of its global health programs. This is the follow-on project to GHPOD which Social Impact implemented from 2012 – 2016.
