I joined Social Impact in May 2017 as the Deputy Director of Human Resources and have enjoyed the work as well as being welcomed into what I have found to be a warm and supportive work environment and organization! I came to Social Impact after a 14+ year career in International HR spanning both private and non-profit sectors. In my role, not only do I get to oversee payroll, benefits, employee relations matters in addition to providing a strategic advisory role to senior management, I also get to interact daily with our staff, providing counsel and support as they conduct the very important work they have been assigned to do. My responsibilities here are quite fulfilling, and I have always been drawn to the type of Human Resources work that is authentic and centered on the heart as the core driver of my actions. Working in international development on assignments that are mission driven and impactful allow me to do just that.
Prior to Social Impact, for 10 years I worked for a non-profit public health firm that ran USAIDs flagship supply chain management project. Leading the HR unit there, allowed me the opportunity to travel and work with headquarters staff and local teams in HR strategy & administration as well as capacity building and training. I completed my Masters’ in Business Administration some years ago and speak Amharic fluently.
While at Social Impact, I hope to make a difference and continue to impact those I come in to contact with through my work, in a positive and lasting way.
