Dr. Kari Nelson joined the Social Impact team in 2016 and is now is a Technical Director. She oversees a portfolio of technical projects, providing leadership and quality oversight. She has a background in M&E in a variety of sectors, including infrastructure (roads, power/energy, water and sanitation, irrigation), WASH, agriculture, health, and education.  She is a specialist in mixed-methods, having led both large scale quantitative surveys as well as qualitative data collection.

Recently, she led the design of an evaluation of a small grants facility in agriculture for MCC in Niger.  She is also leading the quantitative survey component at the endline of a USAID health governance activity in Guinea.  In El Salvador, she is leading the evaluation and political economy aspects of the evaluation of two MCC road projects.

Dr. Nelson has a Ph.D in Public Policy and Administration, focusing on Program Evaluation from George Washington University and an M.A. in International Political Economy and Development from Fordham University.  She speaks English, French, and Wolof.
