(1) Strengthen civil society and independent media organizations to advance Democracy, Rights and Governance (DRG) objectives; (2) Strengthen civil society and independent media organizations to advance other development goals (education, health economic growth, environment, etc.).
Social Impact is part of a consortium of organizations working under FHI 360’s Leader Award. In this capacity, SI contributes to SCS Global through a variety of Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) activities. Most recently, SI produced a Research Agenda that synthesizes MEL approaches and evidence for capacity development; proposes preliminary questions for a Learning Agenda; and identifies capacity development measurement tools and their varying approaches and characteristics to help fill knowledge gaps in capacity development measurement.
SI led the development of a manual for selecting capacity development measurement tools. The manual serves as a guide for program designers, who can use it to select the most appropriate tools and methodologies for planning and measuring their work to strengthen civil society.
