Mike Duthie provides strategic direction and technical guidance on Social Impact’s impact evaluations.
Mike has designed or managed dozens of rigorous impact evaluations across a wide range of sectors including agriculture, education, health, microfinance, governance, and girls’ empowerment. He has managed numerous large scale data collection efforts, including surveys of more than 10,000 households, key informant interviews, focus group discussions, and a variety of participatory rural appraisal techniques. He also has extensive experience designing monitoring and evaluation systems, leading teams in strategic planning, carrying out performance evaluations, and training on strategic planning and monitoring and evaluation. Mike presents regularly at international conferences. He has taught in courses on evaluation at two universities, and has presented evaluation results to high level government officials and to international media. Mike has worked in more than 20 countries and extensively in Latin America, Africa, and Asia.
Prior to joining SI, Mike worked for the Innovations for Poverty Action and Management Systems International. He holds a Masters degree in Social Policy in Developing Countries from the London School of Economics. He is fluent in English and Spanish.
