CLOSED. USAID has commissioned a comprehensive nationwide agriculture sector assessment in Haiti under the Evaluation and Survey Services Program. The assessment’s purpose is to inform the design of USAID/Haiti’s new agricultural activities, building upon the successes of Feed the Future and other successful activities by learning from existing best practices and approaches. Results of the assessment will guide USAID’s future investments to meet the needs of key stakeholders in the agriculture sector.
Social Impact is seeking to engage a Haitian data collection firm well-versed in collecting data in the field in Haiti, using qualitative methods. The Sub-contractor will carry out focus group discussions across relevant geographical sub-units and conduct key informant interviews at the local level with Municipality Agriculture Offices (BAC) directors, Communal Section Offices (CASEC) members, or CBO directors. The Sub-contractor will be responsible for programming events, collecting and securing data mobilizing people, and providing refreshments to participants as appropriate. The Sub-contractor will also be responsible for implementing data quality assurance processes during all phases of the engagement: translation, pretesting, facilitator and note taker training, pilot testing, data collection, data entry/transmission, and development of deliverables. Field work is expected to begin in February and last approximately one month. It is anticipated that the Subcontract will be a Firm, Fixed Price type contract.
